The Home Front Coffee House, Ice Cream Parlor and the Home Front Craft Emporium are all under one roof. The coffee house is decorated in a 1940s motif where you can enjoy a deli style sandwich with a cup of soup and a specialty espresso drink while listening to big band music, or browse in the Craft Emporium which has over 40 crafters displaying their diverse talents. It was the idea of Michael and Judy Gutierrez, who moved to Trinidad from southern California in April of 2004, and after six months of renovation, opened their businesses in November to a wonderful response.

The coffee house serves much more than just coffee and ice cream. The menu includes sandwiches named after the era's well-known personalities or events, such as the Roosevelt Roast Beef or the Pin Up Gal special. Enjoy Rosie the Riveter soups of the day or a Veterans Salad. Ice cream treats include the Shadow, a chocolate lover's delight or the U-Boat float. There are fresh-baked items such as cinnamon rolls, cookies, and sweet breads every day that complement your favorite espresso drink, such as a white mocha latte topped with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.

   Judy's been collecting World War II memorabilia for several years and now shares them with the public. Look for her autographed pictures of many 1940s movie stars and an authentic World War II era helmet. The cheerful yellow walls with green and red trim were inspired by the cookie tin artwork on the walls; this, along with the big band music, lets customers feel as if they've stepped back in time. Ironically, the Gutierrez's discovered that this building once housed the USO during the 40s and are currently searching for photographs of the period to display. Judy and Michael wish to thank their guests for making the Home Front a favorite place to dine and shop.
